Internet Governance Forum 2010

Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is a unified platform which aims at discussing the current and important issues of the Internet across the world. It was established in 2006 when the Tunis Agenda for the Information Society invited the Secretary-General of the United Nations to set up a new forum to stimulate open policy dialogue on issues of Internet Governance.
IGF invites the participants across the Globe on its annual meeting. Participants represent the governments, multinational organizations, Internet service providers, telecommunication companies, civil society and the media. Participants discuss on the multifaceted public policy issues  and share their opinions and experiences related to Internet governance. The meeting helps to bring the people from different backgrounds and territories to a common understanding.

The fifth annual IGF Meeting will be held in Vilinius, Lithuania, on 14-17 September 2010.

In order to facilitate the participation of professionals from across the world, IGF secretariat provides the opportunity to create remote participation hubs. The remote hub connects the participants across the world. Through this remote hub participants will be able to watch and listen to the proceedings of the IGF and also to discuss the issues covered  by IGF.
In Pakistan, NUST SEECS in collaboration with Internet Society (ISOC) Pakistan Chapter is establishing remote participation hub for fifth annual IGF Meeting at NUST School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Sector H-12, Islamabad. An open invitation is given to all likely participants interested in attending the IGF 2010 and accumulating necessary experience and knowledge about the International Internet governance issues. UNIT ROOT TEST

Stationarity and Unit Root Testing l   The stationarity or otherwise of a series can strongly influence its behaviour and properties - e.g. persistence of shocks will be infinite for nonstationary series l   Spurious regressions. If two variables are trending over time, a regression of one on the other could have a high R 2 even if the two are totally unrelated l   If the variables in the regression model are not stationary, then it can be proved that the standard assumptions for asymptotic analysis will not be valid. In other words, the usual “ t -ratios” will not follow a t -distribution, so we cannot validly undertake hypothesis tests about the regression parameters. Stationary and Non-stationary Time Series Stationary Time Series l   A series is said to be stationary if the mean and autocovariances of the series do not depend on time. (A) Strictly Stationary : n   For a strictly stationary time series the distribution of   y(t) is independent of t .   Thus it is not just
